Welcome to the world beautiful girlš
My sweet Olivia Eileen made her appearance last night (10/13) at 11:35pm. 7lbs 12oz and 19.5 inches longš„°

We went in for our 39 week appointment at 11:30am and I was 5cm dilated. They didnāt feel comfortable sending me home because we live over an hour away from the hospital. I was only having contractions every 10-15 minutes, lasting 30 seconds at most. I had a falsely high blood pressure reading (nurse error) which caused a bit of confusion and we arrived at the hospital at 1:30pm being told I was going to be induced. After multiple perfect blood pressure readings and some clarification everything was sorted out. Took 6 tries and 4 nurses before getting my IV, my veins are horribleš I relaxed for a while, they broke my water around 4:00, I got the epidural at 6:00. I started feeling intense pressure around 10:30 and she really wanted to start moving down, but I was only 7-8cm dilated and 90% effaced. After a bunch of switching positions I finally was able to start pushing around 11:00, but my anterior cervix was still not fully thinned and went over her head with each push so we tried putting me in a few different positions. I laid on my side for a few contractions, pushed on my side for one contraction, then I was able to turn onto my back and she was out in two pushes. My epidural wore off most of the way shortly before pushing but it was nice being able to feel the contractions and push on my own time, and I thankfully had no tears. It was both the craziest and calmest labor I have experienced and sheās the most perfect babyš„°š„¹
It was an emotional time for me when I went to cradle my belly and remembered there wasnāt a baby in there anymore, I already miss feeling her kicks as this may very well be my last pregnancy but Iām so happy sheās here. Good luck to all of you mamas who are still waiting for the arrival of your little ones and to the moms who have welcomed their sweet babies!
