Cleaning bottles
This may sound dumb but I’m a first time mom…i washed my bottles/pump with the hottest water i could and soap, but i did it in the kitchen sink (it was just cleaned) but found out I’m not supposed to do that and clean them in a separate basin…i already used the bottle/pump for her once and now I’m worried. I will sanitize them parts this time by boiling, but I’m worried since i already used it.
Edit: thank you to all who responded! I didn’t know if it was that big of a deal or frowned upon 😅 i just found on the cdc website a chart for cleaning your pump and bottle and it said DO NOT wash in the sink because of bad bacteria.. and to sanitize everytime. I use breast shield to catch excess breast milk when feeding and sanatizing after every use seemed unrealistic when feeding every 2-3 hours, even sometimes more frequently during her cluster feeds. I didn’t invest in a sanitizer and didn’t know if i needed to.
