How early are y’all taking a pregnancy test?

How early can/should I take a test? Everyone I’ve talked to says I need to wait until I’ve missed my period. Which is fine, I’ve just heard of people taking them before they miss it. I’m supposed to get my period on the 21st.
Edit: I’m also wondering if you just had a *feeling* that you were pregnant. I’ve had people tell me that they had a feeling, like they just knew they were and they were. It’s kinda discouraging me because I don’t get a feeling that I am. Just wondering if everyone had that “feeling” or not. (I want a baby so bad it hurts lol, we recently just started trying for a baby)

For my last two pregnancies, I've got postives at 8DPO (6 days before period with an average 14 day LP). I admit though, I'm very fortunate for that to be the case!! Most people would see an early postive at 11-14DPO (0-3 days before missed period).

I personally would never test until I've missed my period. I can not put myself through the anxiety of testing too soon and having a negative from testing too early or driving myself crazy not knowing if I actually see a line or not. I waited until my period was completely missed to finally test because I personally wanted to see an undeniable bold line and I did.

You *can* take it early, but the mental disappointment is the risk. You just have lower chances of a BFP when you take it before AF. I’ve taken them and then be absolutely certain I’m out for the month, when technically I’m not until AF shows. If I can’t help myself, I test at least a couple days before AF.
