Lack of Support from OB?

Hi there! I got my BFP this morning (10 DPO) after 2 miscarriages this year. My OB is aware of my miscarriage history. I called their office to schedule blood work to track HCG and progesterone and they acted like I had 6 heads! They told me I should contact my PCP for blood work. I have something scheduled for next week, but they seemed confused as well. Has anyone had this experience with ~less than supportive~ providers or is this the norm? 😵‍💫

From my understanding OB doesn’t take over until like 8-10 weeks. Not sure if history matters. Also depends on the situation like if you were having fertility treatments and IVF. Your PCP can certainly order the bloodwork for you no problem.

Some OBGYN offices just don't do blood confirmation to check levels.
I learned this when I became pregnant the first time I thought that everyone was supposed to go in and get early blood work from all of the posts I see on here and when I called around to choose an OBGYN office all of them said that they do not have women come in to confirm pregnancy through blood work if they have positive tests at home they just make an appointment for 8 weeks.
When I called them all I asked them about making an appointment to check my levels they all acted very confused like nobody does that so I don't know if it's just certain areas that do that regularly or for history of miscarriage but apparently the area I'm in out of 8 to 10 different OBGYN offices I called they all acted like I was crazy for asking if I needed to get blood work to check my levels before 8 weeks. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don't see why you shouldn't go to your primary care doctor just to check your levels especially if it will make you feel better if you're OB won't do it.

It's also very possible you were just talking to the front desk and they aren't a nurse/doctor. I'd call again and ask to speak to a nurse so you can discuss your want for hcg tracking and meds.
