Feedings?!

FTM NEEDING ADVICE: So my baby boy will be 4 weeks old tomorrow. He sleeps pretty much all the time, sometimes I have to wake him up during feedings just so he stops dozing off. My question is how much should he be eating at this age. He eats about 2.5 oz every 2-3 hours and I’m wondering if that’s enough. He’s been peeing and pooping fine so no worries there, just wondering if he should be eating more at this age.

We just test out if they can eat more 🤷🏽‍♀️ my girls were clearing 4oz every 2.5-3 hours so we upped to 5oz and sometimes they finish and sometimes they don’t. If you think you should up it go .5oz for a few feeds and see where the average is and go from there. My girls are a little older so that’s why they take more but every baby is different of course. Just do some trial and error. Baby will let you know :)

First time mom as well! Congrats!
My son is 4 weeks old today. He’s at 3oz and eats every 2-3 hours. He’s a good sleeper and a good eater…and most definitely a good pooper. I’m thinking of increasing his feed to 3 1/2 oz or even 4 oz very shortly. He’s a big boy and depending on the hour, he will still show hunger queues after a good feeding. Every baby is different though! My pediatrician said increase ounces every week (2 weeks old give 2 oz, 3 week give 3oz, 4 weeks 4oz). We tried doing this and he would spit up so much food so we would gradually increased throughout each week which worked wonders and much easier on his tummy. I have a handy cheat-cheat on my fridge I’ll share with you!
