Business & relationships

I am looking to start a business soon which I plan on paying and investing in all myself.

My partner just offered to pay for all of my supplies to start if I pay him back once I take off and/or he’ll manage my business for 30% profit.

He already started his own business doing well he so he would be a good partner. BUT it just didn’t sit right with me because I can buy my own stuff, why pay somebody back…. & I’ve always heard Business and pleasure doesn’t always mix.
