Toddler worried about adult things

Mikayla

My son is only just turned 3, and he worries for things that adults should (if I turned on my headlights when it was starting to get dark out) and there were a couple of other things he did this about. It's like he's worried I'm not competent. I try to tell him not to, that mommy is handling it. Are there any tips for this? I don't want him to feel like he has to worry for me.

Is he mirroring your partner?I think you're handling just fine. 3 yo's are spunges, he might just want to learn about things.. like you can confirm what he's saying like "yep you're right! when it gets dark, we turn our headlights on"

Because if you go "Don't worry, I got this!" Is showing that you're kind of insecure (you're worried about him being worried about you or not trusting your judgment, but he doesn't see that part, he just notices your insecurity) which in turn might make him feel like you don't actually got it.

His father and I have some anxiety too, I just want to do the best I can to make sure he feels secure in his parents. We're married, both work, and we're in a healthy relationship. 😅
