Rent was raised but then lowered??

I’m sorry I don’t know where to put this but I’m just confused.. so my rent was $979 including a $50 pet fee. I got an e-mail in July about lease renewal in October and in it included the rent increase (which they do normally every year) but this year they were raising it to $1,280. That’s a whopping $350 rent increase! So we made do cause we can’t afford to move anywhere else cause rent is crazy everywhere. Well today I logged on to my portal to schedule a payment only to see that it looks like my rent has been decreased to $1,021 and that I only owe $75 yet for Novembers rent…

I’m just so confused. Did they lower it without telling anyone? I didn’t get any e-mails about it being lowered and nothing in the mail either. I’m not complaining if they did lower it, that’s a blessing! I’m just worried at the lack of notice about it so thinking they may have made a mistake?

Anybody else have this happen to them before?
