Is there a good non hormonal BC?

I will not get an IUD, I've heard way too many bad stories about insertion I am beyond terrified. I only had good luck with Nuvaring in the past but I didn't like how I had to take it out each time for sex. I am willing to go back on it if there isn't any other options. I've tried multiple brands of pills, my body gives me serious side effects so I stay away. I am heathy; go to the gym 4-5 times a week and eat proper so I shouldn't be too worried about many side effects. I've been off Nuvaring for 3 years now, would I be okay if I get back on it?
