Best birth control?

My husband & I are pregnant with our third, I don’t want anymore anytime soon. He’s not on board with birth control & absolutely want more… but I’m the one carrying them & I’m a sahm so nope! I’ve been borderline against it as well because of the mood swings I’ve experienced (before I met him) & I’ve seen some people gain weight from different types. I’m a pretty petite person & not trying to gain. What are some of the most effective birth control methods & good for long term?

Here is the CDC birth control chart with effectiveness. Personally, the best bc I’ve ever had was the implant. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn’t cover it so I’m on the pill. Also, if I were you I’d be very concerned about your husbands view of not being “on board” with birth control. It’s not his body. He does not get a say.

Long term birth control such as the iud and implant are the most effective and super easy to use. Literally get it and forget it for a few years! I had Mirena iud for a couple years and loved it. I honestly regret taking it out. (Took it out due to cramps which weren't even caused by the iud it turns out).

Condoms are highly effective. I've used them to not get pregnant for over a decade. Never a single scare and we get pregnant fairly easily when trying.

I had the nexplenon for about 4.5 years . I loved it & the fact that I didn’t have to remember to take a shot or a pill was the best. It was recommended to me & I’ve recommended it to at least 3 people who also love it.

I’ve been on Nexplanon for a decade. You’ll get random bleeding patterns for the first 6 months but after that it regulates, and it made my periods lighter. No other form of protection, no pregnancies, and that’s with regular sex. I still think your husband should consider a vasectomy so that you don’t have to bother with BC at all though 😂

I used the nuvaring for probably 6 years and was super happy with it. It has the least amount of hormones of any birth control option, and weight gain isn’t a side effect. However, after I had my first child, I got back on it for a few months and felt like it was not for me. Not so much the nuvaring, but birth control as a whole. My husband and I have been using condoms for years. We used them for 3 years between babies and now we’ve been using them for 2.5 years since my youngest and never have had an issue. But if you were to try a birth control, I’d definitely recommend the nuvaring. I think my body and hormones just changed after kids, so not to say it won’t be great for you!

It’s going to vary for each person, but l’ve only ever used the patch. It’s been almost four years and l have never had a pregnancy scare, haven’t gained a single pound (l’m 5’5 and weigh 111lbs), and my period is super regular.

I definitely root for the Nexplanon. It’s an insert that goes in your arm and is good for 3 years.
