Have you ever had a stalker?

I'm looking at court papers of this past May, when I had to get a restraining order against a woman. Now I'm wondering if you guys have any harassment or stalker stories of your own, and if so, please share.

High school. Lost my virginity to my boyfriend at the time and I told him I didn’t want to do it again because I didn’t think I was ready. He told me “now that I’ve had it I can’t go without it” so I broke up with him. He responded by trying to choke me and his father heard the commotion and knocks down his door and beats the crap out of him. He stalked me for months after. Showed up to my house and knocked on all windows and doors, showed up in the middle of the night and slept under my window in the driveway. Followed me everywhere at school even though our paths never really crossed in general. Finally he had to change schools and he slowly stopped. Years later I was working at Burger King and he walked in and I ducked into the office and begged the manager to take his order and let me hide until he left. Manager was an awesome guy and immediately went and covered for me without question. Haven’t seen the guy since.

My now boyfriend has a schizophrenic friend who I had to file a restraining order against in college. The guy was having an episode and we didn’t initially catch on so we continued hanging out with him as he started a downward spiral. He started messaging me talking all sorts of craziness and told me we were telepathically married. He then tried to break into my boyfriends apartment to hurt him and went to my professors on campus saying stuff like there was a rapist coming to hurt female students and he was going to use laser beams to make them unconscious. He’d sit outside my apartment and tried to come in multiple times. I received 1000 messages in one day. Campus police wasn’t much help and I had to take him to court.

I did, in high school. It was another student who was mentally not well and was looking for connection but didn't follow appropriate boundaries.

But I guess I should share instead of “stalking” comments 😂 for a short time I waitressed at a bar and all waitresses know you get “Regulars”. All of my regulars liked me but I guess one liked me a little too much. One day I’m leaving from the late shift I always sit in my car for a second and get my music together before I leave and I notice a car pulls out the exact same moment I do. No biggie right… except I do a sharp turn in case and they do a sharp turn also. I TAKE OFF AS FAST AS I CAN ON THE FREEWAY. And loe and behold this mfer is doing the dash right behind me. I see a semi truck in the middle lane and I get over in front of it so I can get to the left lane and drive on the side of the  because there’s no way this car is gonna take the chance to get side swiped by a semi truck. Well you could call me a dumbass that day. Just when I thought I was safe they pulled the same move I did and the semi slowed down… When they got to the left lane they hit their brakes on the freeway in front of me to get me to stop but the first thing that came to my mind was merge in the exit lane as soon as this truck passes. I swear I did some fast and furious shit and all I hear are horns honking at me and I’m just in the car like WHERE IS THE FING POLICE WHEN I NEED THEM IM BREAKING ALL KINDS OF TRAFFIC LAWS 😂😂😂😂. I get off on the exit and I think I’m safe because I thought he passed the exit. The stalker person reversed on the freeway and came up on the exit I was on. I tried to call the police but the line was busy can you freaking believe that. And this person is literally chasing me up and down residential streets. So last resort I call my friend who I know has a cpl and I ask where they’re at and explain the situation. They were actually a minute away from where I was. I pull into their neighborhood while this person is still following me and they let 2 warning shots off into the air and the person took off and stopped chasing me.

In college. I don't remember having him in any of my classes. Started by him following me and finding out I had a boyfriend(husband now). He would take pictures of me and place them on my bf car with quotes "leave her, she's mine" things like that. My bf told me hey you have a stalker. I laughed about it and ignored him. A month in I started to get letters in my car or house.. it would tell me how he saw me and how he loved the way I looked, etc. 
The crazy thing he would place things on my bf cars every morning. A stuff animal with my pic on it and a knife in its chest. Or pictures of us 2(bf & me) with phrases "let her go or ur next". 
His obsession was gettingnout of hand and I didn't know who he was. One incident I'll never forget. My family & i went to see a movie at the theater, still remember the Movie, Men in black.. I was tired and fell asleep. The next day I had a note on my car detailing how I looked asleep & how I smelled 😳. How he enjoyed brushing my hair with his fingers & smelling it. How he wished he could of given me a kiss and take me to his place so I can rest. 
I finally went to the campus police and told them but I didn't know who it was. So little they can do. 
They ended up catching him bc he burned my bf car and he burned his arm, smh.  He did all the bad things to him so he can leave me. He never did and that would get my stalker angry. When I saw him finally I recognized him. He was in all my classes of criminal justice. I never spoke to him but I remember smiling at him while passing him.

I’ve had two. Both from high school. An ex boyfriend who was emotionally abusive, narcissistic, and a serial cheater. I was with him when i was 16 and broke up a year and a half later. Constantly an on and off relationship because of the cheating. He manipulated me so badly i lost all sense of myself. 6+ years later, i am now married and have a daughter, i get a message on Facebook from him that was 9 screenshots long…didn’t think anything of it, i thought maybe it was just he got drunk one night and sent it, just very very random and i thought i had him blocked. I just answered saying i hope you are doing well but not to contact me again, and then unsent it and blocked him because something about the message was very off putting with some of the things he said the more i thought about it. He had mentioned how he liked my tattoos i got and how he thought it was cool i refinished furniture (obviously stalking my Facebook for who knows how long) The next morning i woke up to a fake account he created to message me asking what i said because he didn’t get a chance to read it. I blocked him. He found my second Instagram account (i had a fitness one) and messaged me there. I blocked him. After i blocked his Instagram, i got a text from his iMessage account that said “i still have your number, better block me on here too” and decided to get the police involved. They told me i need to tell him to not contact me and if he continues, it’s unwanted contact and i can get a restraining order. I deleted everything. Stayed off social media for a whole month. Changed all my names on things so he couldn’t search me. Even if he tried to contact my family, it warranted a restraining order. After a month i went back on Facebook and i had a message everyday from him for a whole month. I was terrified for myself because when i went back to the police, i found out he had just been released from jail about a month before also due to a domestic violence/harrsssment case with another girl. My case was considered a domestic abuse case because it was causing anxiety and for me to fear for my life, and we were in a relationship at one point so that’s how they classified it. I signed a warrant for his arrest and the detective was amazing to work with and they made me feel safe. He gave me his personal contact in case i needed to be escorted out of stores or anywhere i felt unsafe. The state i lived in took those cases very seriously. Haven’t heard from him since and i am in a new state. It was even scarier at the time because my husband was overseas and he knew he was gone, so i felt very alone. I got my concealed carry just to feel comfortable enough to go into public. 
The second wasn’t that crazy, but still scary. He would ask me on dates and follow me in the halls. He even found my pintrest and YouTube account to message me since he was blocked on everything else and had a bunch of creepy demonic and satanic things on any profile he had. A couple years later, he got arrested for bringing weed and a gun into our old high school…and it later came out he did this to many many girls in our school so i wasn’t the only one he stalked.

Post grad school. I met him at work. I was a dispatcher at a hospital, he was a deputy sherriff bringing a patient in for treatment. He was going to law school where I was getting my paralegal certificate. We went out on 3 dates and he was too clingy so I broke it off. He never stopped calling/texting. I ignored him. But I started getting an uncomfy feeling I was being watched/followed. We didn’t really live near eachother but he would casually “be in the area” or in the same store near campus. Then I was studying at the library with a few paralegals. One male and he confronted me and my platonic friend Jorge. Unreal. 
So I went to the university first and they basically have their own harassment rules, that if I reported he was within x amount of feet of me he’d get kicked out of law school. They told me to take different walking paths to school and change up my pattern of time/transportation/etc for awhile. Thankfully he stopped

A guy I dated a very short time who was very verbally abusive. I broke up with him and and he would show up to my apartment every time he see my car there. Would knock on the door and when I didn't answer would knock on the patio door and when I didn't answer would knock on my bedroom door. I was happy that I kept my blinds closed at that time. One time he called me and I didn't answer then sent a text saying he was on his way which I didn't respond, so I rushed out of my apartment to my car and as soon as I got out of the door he was pulling into the parking lot🤦‍♀️. Stupid mistake on my end I know. 
Another time, I was outside of the grocery store loading a Shipt order in the car for one of my regular customers and we were standing next to her car talking and he pulls up next to me calling my name. I ignore him and my customer asks me who he was. After I was done with her her order, I head inside and he follows me into the store saying he wants to talk. I tell him I don't want to talk and continue speed walking and get as far away as I could. He finally stops following me. 
I tried to get a restraining order but it was denied because it wasn't physical even though he threw things towards me but never hit me and it was mostly verbal. Eventually he got a new girlfriend and I would run into them occasionally and sometimes he would still try to talk to me🙄

It wasn’t full on stalker but I was in boot camp with this guy, he had a crush on me and we ended up at the same duty station, him and his friend and I were all pretty good friends. I was more friends with the friend then I was with him. I wouldn’t say stalked, but definitely became obsessed with me and started clinging to his friend so that he could come with him to see me and stuff and would get mad and throw a fit when I was talking to other guys. It was never anything too insane just followed me around like a puppy dog for almost 4 years before he got new orders and had to leave.

Then he would come to my work and harassed me and have his friends call me at my work and say I’m a bitch 
I work at family business too and my dad had to chase him away it was so bad he would stalked me at stores too 
I would not leave the house I was scared he
