Did you carb load before 3 hour glucose test?

It’s too late for me anyway as my test is tomorrow am. But was I supposed to eat extra carbs the days leading up to my test?? I actually have been cutting carbs and sugar the past few days. My doctor only said to fast 12 hours before. Iv been reading that I was supposed to carb load… 😭

No. Just eat what you would normally eat. Nothing you do or don’t eat the day before the test will get certain results. It’s about how your body responds to the drink that has 100 grams of sugar.

I literally just had mine 6 days ago and it wasn’t until 2:30 in the afternoon… I had to be at work at 5 so that clearly left me many hours to eat prior to my test. I had ravioli, pop tarts crackers and chips lol my result was only 76…. I’ve never been told to fast or eat certain foods prior, she actually told me eat as I would so you get most accurate results.

You shouldn’t do anything to skew the results. If you have GD, for the health of you and the baby, you want to know it. Altering your body or the test in any way won’t change what’s actually going on in your body. Eat like normal
