Is induction a consideration?

So I’m just a shy person, I don’t really like asking questions at the doctor about this stuff unless it’s something serious lol
I’m 34 and half weeks right now with my first baby , I’ll be 37 weeks on the 28th of this month. My due date is 12/19 and my insurance that will cover a tubal ligation terminates on 12/05. Would it be stupid to ask my doctor to induce me before 12/05 so I could get a tubal or is that just ridiculous to ask? Anybody ever been in a similar situation?

I highly doubt your doctor would induce you 2 weeks early without a medical reason.

Every single OB I've seen for my 4 pregnancies has brought up induction at 39 weeks. Either just because or to accommodate my husband or family for some reason. I've never been induced though. Lol always go into labor just before my induction date. 
& you can certainly ask, they wont go sooner than 39 weeks though.

My friends insurance runs out on Jan 1. She is due Xmas but went over with her last baby. Her doctor is inducing early for that reason

They usually like to keep baby in as long as possible,  as long as you are both healthy and doing well. If you absolutely  needed an induction, it's not like 2 weeks early would be dangerous... it's just that theres still alot of growth that's happening in utero and they want to avoid unnecessary complications if they can. The last few weeks are definitely hard but try to hang in there! You are so close!

At my facility, we will not induce under 39 weeks without a medical reason. 37 weeks with. Under 37 with a damn good medical reason.
