Your thoughts?

So my husband came up with the idea of having a pink flashing dash light for women who are in labour and need to get to the hospital rather quickly. I’m about 25 mins from hospital, but for those who are further out, what are your thoughts on this?

Sounds dangerous and exploitable to me. That's what the ambulance is for if it's an emergency. Not really safe or practical to have flashing lights on a civilian car, even if they aren't the same color as emergency vehicles. Not to mention, it would he subject to abuse by others who just wanted traffic to move for them. 
I live 45 minutes from the hospital and am on my fourth baby. You have plenty of time, in most cases, to make it that far.

I mean it’s a good idea but probably not feasible. I don’t think you’re allowed to have anything that mimics police lights on your car.

If you're pregnant, this is a great idea but I feel like anyone who needs to get to the hospital quickly would have a need for this. 
Like if my baby is extremely sick and I'm racing to the hospital,  I would want a flashing light.  Or if my parents are older and having an emergency, I would want a light to use rushing them to the hospital.  So I think in the end, if there's an emergency, its just better to call 911.

I'm really close to my hospital like 15 min drive and I usually go into labor late night/overnight anyways but I think it'd be a good idea for ppl living further away from the hospital. The thing around here is ppl barely move out of the way for emergency vehicles (firefighters and paramedics)as it is so not sure how effective it would be lol everyone moves for cop cars cuz they can pull you over and ticket you 🤣
