Has anyone ate dates during pregnancy?

First pregnancy and my in laws got me a big bag of dates I seen an article that dates can help soften cervix also other positive effects from Eating them like helping with constipation which I’ve been dealing with this whole pregnancy. I’m only 24 weeks 5 days can I start eating a few a day now?

i started because i heard the same…3 days before i actually gave birth ( i gave birth  2 weeks early) 🤣  i was also drinking red rasberry leaf tea (started at 34 weeks) id say something worked as the midwife was shocked at how fast i was progessing and only had to push for 12 mins no bleeding when she came out aswell

I ate 6-7 dates each day starting at 33wks, Come time for delivery I didn’t dilate at all, was stuck at 2cm even though my contractions were regular. Had to eventually get induced but that also didn’t help me dilate, ended up getting a c-section. My bubs is now 10wks.

You couldve eaten some every day throughout your pregnancy. The same is true of things like cinnamon, grapes, pineapple, eggplant etc they all have enzymes that can effect your cervix but just dont go binging on anything, keep a reasonable portion and it's fine.

Everything I've seen regarding dates suggests starting them at 36 weeks. I eat a derving a prunes a day to help with constipation.

Yes, I ate six dates a day a few weeks out from my due date (no other sugar or simple carbs at all).
