I’ve been struggling with fissures for several years now. I have yet to go to a doctor about it but after getting another one the 2 weeks ago (which i still have), I figured I probably should. I have a large piece of excess skin for lack of a better word due to these fissures and it just keeps getting worse with every rip. I just was wondering if anyone had any experience with these two surgeries. I know incontinence is very common with it which is why I never went to the doctors out of fear of this. What was recovery like?

I was also wondering who do I even go to see for initial treatment. I’ve seen things about going to the general practitioner, urgent care and a specialist. If you have been treated by a doctor, which did you go to first? I don’t really have anyone to guide me on this so I would appreciate the help.
