2 glucose tests?

I just had my first ob visit at 12+3. They noted a change to their protocol for gestational diabetes testing since I had my first 18 months ago. Apparently now they have everyone do a glucose test around 16 weeks and then again at 28 weeks (even if you pass the earlier one). Just curious if anyone else has had to do the glucose test twice as routine?

I was told I'd have to do two, but I had GDM previously so I figured they were just checking earlier. I already asked to go straight to the three hour, I never pass the one hour, even the baby where I wasn't diabetic.

I just had a baby in April and am pregnant again.. I only had to do one and she hasn’t mentioned two?! 🤷‍♀️

I’m pregnant with my 3rd now and have to do 2 this time too. I never had to do 2 with my other 2 kids. My youngest was born in 2020.

Nope, and I got pregnant when my first was only 10 months old. They only requested one glucose test at about 20 weeks.

I had to do two last pregnancy, and will do two this pregnancy as well. Last time I was considered obese (5’3 and 180 at beginning) and this time around I’m still considered overweight(165 at beginning) but also high risk.  Every doctor is different, and every pregnancy is different. Good luck mama!
