Sneak Peek Snap… Do it or Skip It?

Back story… I have 3 boys and 2 girls already. 5 weeks along with baby 6. I never trusted the original sneak peek due to fear of contamination because we have boys in our house… 4 males not counting the cats 😂 I’ve read snap is much less likely for contamination which wasn’t around my last two pregnancies so now I’m debating doing this. Any thoughts on the snap vs the original sneak peek? Would you do it?

I feel like a lot of people who think it’s a “scam” are people who haven’t used it. We have a 5yr old daughter and a 3yr old son…Sneak Peek was correct for both of them. Yes, you have to be clean and careful, as if you were in a clinical setting. 
Sneak Peek uses the same blood test you get with the NIPT. The only reason we didn’t do the NIPT is because we didn’t want the disorder screening. We knew we’d keep our baby regardless of the screening results, and those can often show a false positive for chromosomal disorders. 
All that said, this will be the first time using the snap method, simply because the lancet was the only option during my first two pregnancies. Also, if you get a girl result, you can be pretty darn sure it’s accurate. It’s really only the boy results that can be false, and that’s because there was contamination during collection. Besides, they refund if the result is wrong, so why would they try to scam you if they regularly gave incorrect results?

I did the snap and got girl results. We weren’t able to confirm it with ultrasound because baby was not cooperating, so we will know in a few months lol. My doctor said with a girl result she would trust it so I do

Just do the snap. It was accurate with me both times and it was boy results. I confirmed with NIPT. Just make sure everything is 100% clean!

I did the clinical. It was an hr drive, but I wouldn’t trust sneak peek unless it was clinical
