Do syllables matter?

Question

I sometimes hear that it matters and sounds best not having the same amount of syllables in each name, e.g. emma poppy smith (2,2,1) and better as something like Penelope Evie smith (4,2,1) because there are different amounts in each name. 
Just examples. Name isn’t smith.

I’m not sure I aim for a specific number of syllables in each name (my first is 224, second is 324), but I do consider the cadence of number of syllables, particularly with extra long or extra short last names.

I dont think it matters unless the first and middle arent both too long (feels heavy) or for example you pick first and middle 1 syllable with smith will sound choppy. 2, 2 and 1 is still balanced imo. Like Eva Maya Smith is nice, Eva Mae Smith is also nice, Evangeline Mae Smith is ok, but Eve Mae Smith is too choppy and Evangeline Maryanna feels too heavy for me.

To sound the best you want all the syllables in the full name to add up to an even number I believe. Doesn’t really matter how many in each individual name. Not that I took this into consideration when naming my kids, it’s just something I’ve heard.

I think it matters with one syllables because it sounds choppy… (I.e. Eve Blake Brown) It’s so choppy and doesn’t roll off the tongue well.

I have OCD and syllables matter a lot to me. I know that “Avery” has three syllables but I’ll still play it over and over again in my mind, counting the syllables. I can’t control it. To me, the flow of syllables absolutely matters. I prefer two syllable names, anything more tends to trigger my OCD. I also have a thing for vowels. 
Ex: Lux Jade Smith doesn’t sound as good as Lux Victoria Smith.

My daughters name is 4,2,2 
And my son I’m pregnant with will be 2,1,2 and I think both their names flow nicely
