Can you catch chickenpox if you’ve already had shingles?
My son has chickenpox and obviously I’ve been in close contact with him, but I assumed I was safe as I had chickenpox as a child, plus I also had shingles last year. Tonight I’ve come out very suddenly in a rash all over my back, and a little on my shoulders and chest. It looks exactly like chickenpox (as far as I can tell in the mirror) but I also have the horrible dull heavy ache pain in the same leg that I had the shingles rash previously.
Will be calling the doctor in the morning but just wanted to see if it’s possible to catch chickenpox twice, especially after having shingles?
Thanks!
