UK first scan, can I get 6 pics?

Vi • PCOS 🧡 Mum to a beautiful baby boy!

Hi ladies!

I'm 11w 4d today and am having my first scan on Monday where I will be exactly 12 weeks! I really want minimum 6 pictures as we haven't announced yet and would like to distribute to family members for Christmas as our announcement (we also want 2 for ourselves of course!).

I am in the UK and all I've been told from the midwife and the online leaflets etc. Is thst you can purchase 2 pics for £5 (some even say £5 each!) I'm prepared to pay of course whether it be £15 or nearer £30 I'm not too fussed I'm just concerned they will say that I can't have 6 pictures.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Did you get more than 2 pictures at your first scan? Thanks for the help! X

I've got 4 children, with each pregnancy they reminded me you have to pay X amount. When it got to the appointment the sonographer printed out around 8 photos of baby in different positions. When I asked where do I pay they said they don't charge 🤷‍♀️ so I've never actually paid for any of my scan pictures

I’m in the UK and my hospital only give you 1 picture now and you cannot pay for more.

That’s so good! There used to be a charge for extra photos but out of fairness for everyone they give one picture only free of charge so everyone can have a picture of their baby :)

That is so bad! We were lucky and had a lovely tech today, they gave us as many pics as we wanted and said the first 2 were free 🤷🏻‍♀️🙂

If they change you for them why don't make copies...? Also dont expect to get several good pictures - From our youngest we got one somewhere sharp profile picture at 11 weeks, rest was just of blurry unidentifiable parts of him. There was also no othergood pictures the scans later, as he was all over the place and hid behind his legs and arms.
