Depends on your exam. If you're closed, thick, firm, and high, I'd do the cervical ripening first. If you're 2-3 cm, nice and soft, a little effaced most providers I work with go straight to the pit.

cervidil to prep cervix in the PM and pitocin the the AM. less likely to fail :). (Labor and delivery nurse)
