Did you end up pregnant at 16dpo/2 days late but have a negative test?

I've only ever been late when I'm pregnant so this us new and confusing. There were plenty opportunities to get pregnant this month so it's not out of the question I just don't know why it's still negative I have no symptoms of AF or of being pregnant. 
Just wondering if I should continue to hope or just forget this month and try again next time. Tell me your story! I'd love to hear!

With my first two pregnancies I got a positive prior to missing my period.. with my third & current pregnancy (was not tracking ovulation) I didn’t get a positive until I was 4 days late & it was super faint. I got a “BFP” around 6 days late. My periods were usually regular, but it seems as though I ovulated late that cycle.

In whole honesty it’s different per individual and pregnancy. 
I’ve been pregnant 3 times (1 being currently) 
My first one, now 6yrs, I never got a positive pregnancy test until around 7 weeks pregnant, was late had it confirmed by bloods at 5 weeks. 
My second, now 3.5yrs, I got a positive pregnancy test at 1 day late, all negatives prior. 
My third pregnancy (this one current), I tested positive Sunday which is 2 days before my current expected period.

You’re technically never out until you actually start. You could be slightly off about when you ovulated (as in you ovulated later than you believed). It doesn’t hurt to test every other day until you start. Depending on what test you’re using, the HCG may need to be more before it shows up.
