Do you think this game is inappropriate for work (office setting)?

We had a work Christmas party and one of the games we played was a candy cane relay race where we had to put a candy cane in our mouth and pass the candy cane onto the other person’s candy cane that they had in their mouth without using your hands. We were super close to each other’s faces and one person actually opted out of the game because they felt uncomfortable. Many people are of the opposite sex. Is this game inappropriate for work?

Probably inappropriate for work. I remember as a kid in school playing the pass the orange game, which was very similar. We would have an orange under our chin and try to pass it to the next person’s chin. I think the object of the game is teamwork and getting people comfortable with one another. I can totally see how it would not feel appropriate as an adult in a work setting.￼ I think it’s totally fine to sit out on that one. ￼
