How often should I wake my baby to feed?

FTM here and I’ve still got lots of questions. My milk just came in yesterday and I am pumping all the time. My baby would have slept through the night if she could have but I know you need to wake them up to feed. How often should I be doing this? She drinks about 2-2 1/2 ounces at a time, and is 4 days old.

Def ask your pediatrician, but normally it’s every 2-3 hours until they’re back up to birth weight or at a good weight then you can let them sleep.

2-3 hours. I would just set an alarm for every 3 hours in case your baby doesn’t wake up sooner, in which case just feed earlier on demand.

2-3 hours for breast milk and 3-4 hours for formula. YOU MIST WAKE BABY. Make baby uncomfortable by undressing them or rubbing behind their ears or tickling their feet . Whatever your baby doesn’t like- do that to keep them awake for feeds to avoid low blood sugar.
