Protective parents

So at christmas my bf (27) and I (26) were talking about where we want to go on our next vacation and just asking my family’s opinions and just honestly a lighthearted conversation nothing serious.

my parents literally always bring in the negatives. it’s the next morning and both of them are mad at me and in a bad mood and ik it’s bc I want to go away internationally next vacation. every single time i go ANYWHERE they scare me and tell me someone may have a gun and make me feel guilty for going. literally i was going down the shore with my bf which is like 2 hours away from home and they were begging me not to go. every vacation i went on so far they begged me to cancel it and made fun of my choice to go. and you know what? every single time i had so much fun and it wasn’t as dangerous as they said. i have grown up with a lot of anxiety and paranoia and I feel like it might be from them?? idk. they don’t do this with my brother, ik they’re protective over me bc im a girl but i’m almost 30 like this is getting too much. it’s with EVERY trip i go on. not even vacations. weekend getaways. even if i want to go to our nearest city.
