Suspicious moles

Has anyone had suspicious moles biopsied and it ended being nothing serious? I've had these moles since I was a child and they started out flat and have raised as I've grown. I had them checked in 2019 and the derm said I didn't have to worry about these types of moles and if I wanted to remove them, it would be cosmetic. I was suppose to get my moles checked once a year but I kept putting it off. I finally went a few day ago and the new derm said they looked suspicious and he wanted to shave them and have them biopsied. I am freaking out. I have to wait 3 weeks for the insurance to authorize the procedure. I'm scared.
