Collecting sperm at home or onsite?

Question

When doing an IUI or IVF did your partner choose to do a at home sample or on-site at the clinic? 
Both times he did at the clinic and felt awkward and sample wasn’t the greatest but were thinking about at home collection for Ivf so he can feel more comfortable but heard you have to keep the sperm warm and get there within a certain time. Any advice? Or does it make a difference?

On site. We have to drive an hour each way to the clinic, so it’s too far to make the time limit.

We always did at the clinic because there is a time frame and our specialist is a 45 minute drive. They have an extremely nice and comfortable set up that your partner can go in with you. So we always did it at the clinic.
