Should they be doing more? Possible ectopic
A few days after getting positive pregnancy tests at home, I started having a very light flow of bright red blood and minor cramping. Went in for blood test that confirmed pregnancy but hcg was just barely over the threshold and progesterone was really low. Did hcg again after 48 hours and it did double, but was still low so doctors estimated I was very early in the pregnancy. Went back after 5 days and hcg increased again, but not as much as it should've after 5 days. Progesterone went up slightly but is still too low from where it should be. They said my numbers aren't promising but they can't say anything for sure right now. They suspect ectopic and said to watch for one sided pain or if bleeding comes back and let them know asap. Other than that, I just have to wait it out and go back for blood work in a week and possible ultrasound in 2 weeks depending how the blood work looks.
I am terrified that I'm having an ectopic and they aren't doing enough to fix the issue early before the tube bursts.
Should I be pushing them to do more? My numbers are still so low so they probably don't think anything will show on a scan yet but 2 weeks seems like a long time to just wait it out and hope it doesn't burst before we catch it.
