Just looking for advice. When do you know when to leave your long-term relationship? Not looking for hate, just looking for some genuine advice. I’m at a crossroads between my brain and heart. Thanks in advance..

If you picture your life, 5 to 10 years from now, if things stayed exactly how they are right now, would you be happy, there’s your answer. The four main reasons relationships do not work. Aside from infidelity or abuse number 1 you no longer feel supported by your partner, and that goes for every level, emotionally, mentally, physically, sexually, financially, helping with the house, helping with the kids, etc. Number 2 you no longer feel connected to your partner, and that goes for every level as well. Number 3 your needs are no longer being met, and that goes for every level, and number 4 one person is being selfish while the other is being selfless, one person is doing the minimal while the other person is doing the maximum trying to keep the relationship going we’re trying to keep the other person happy until you get tired of it and you were the one that wants out there for making you the bad guy not them. I got a feeling you may already be there because you’re asking, which means you must have doubts in your mind. Staying together for the sake of the kids, or any other reason, aside from wanting to be together, being happy in the relationship, feeling fulfilled, appreciated, and respected, etc. should be the reasons to be in a relationship, not because you feel you have no other alternative, or financially dependent on them, or guilt, or manipulation, or threats, or anything else.

Honestly, if you are growing and not growing together because the lack of willingness on the other partners behalf. When the communication isn’t the same. And you feel alone even when y’all are together. Take a look in the mirror and ask yourself are you hurting your own growth peace etc by staying? It’s ok to love them still and walk away. Does it change the hurt, no. Does it hurt any less, no. But the long term reward is far greater sometimes. I hope this helps. Good luck
