My 3 year old is a stink butt when he’s with grandma and grandpa. Couldn’t care less that I’m there 😂 it’s bitter sweet because while I’m not the center of his world, I’m glad he’s the center of theirs!!

I was a grandpas girl when I was younger and preferred him over literally anyone else in the whole world. I still do. He passed in 2020 and I still feel like he is right next to me and my very best buddy. Parents deal with the ins and outs and hard times with kids. Grandparents are usually just there to dote and spoil. Think of it cognitively as a mini vacation mentally for your kid. Like a weekend away, a trip to the nail salon, whatever you do to frivolously give yourself self care. Kids don’t get to choose when they award themselves mental self care and vacations so they are probably just ready for the relaxation, spoiling etc they know they’re gonna receive

My kids were grandma babies and I absolutely love it..  i never got to have that kind of relationship with my grandma so to see them choose grandma over me gives me so much joy.. i know they love me but love on grandma it’s okay

My kid will literally wave goodbye to me and doesn’t want me holding her, touching her, or talking to her. I mean nothing when my mom is around lol but they have a very close bond.

I really never had a good relationship with my grandma. I love getting to watch my daughter form that loving relationship with my mom and my mother in law. There’s nothing more special to me than watching my loved ones love on my daughter. Just another way to think about it! Your kid still loves you too.
