Hand, foot, and mouth disease in adults

I caught hand foot and mouth disease from my son, who got it from preschool. His rash wasn't very bad and completely cleared up in a few days. I'm on day 3 and can barely use my hands or walk. I'm in so much pain. My scalp and inside my nose are also covered in blisters, and I have some on my face. Is there anything I can do for the pain or that helps with healing after?? My doctor said my skin will probably peel and because my case is so severe there's a chance I'll lose my fingernails too. I'm so upset and so uncomfortable. Anyone else have any experience with this or advice??
