Prodromal labor experience

Anyone experiencing consistent contractions but not in labor? I read it’s call prodromal labor where you have contractions like real labor but you won’t go in labor. Been contracting for days- but I don’t think we are dilating yet. I see doc on Friday.

Only 35 weeks pregnant - this is 2nd and last pregnancy

Contractions started few days ago and haven’t stopped. I am nauseous, have horrible lower back pain , fatigued … idk it starts with my lower back pain, then cramps then my stomach tightens really hard. My contractions are pretty consistent I ready it could be due to baby position- I tried some exercises but this didn’t change anything - we see doc in two days :/

Prodromal is pretty normal. It's just labor that doesn't progress. It's better to have early on than later in your labor. I'm in it too. Mine will stop for hours at a time.

I had it but they were progressing me told me I have an irritable uterus and short cervix but that’s just my experience caused me two preterm babies one at 34 weeks the other at 28 weeks both are fine and growing but drink lots of water and rest and I mean lay down just so gravity isn’t helping.

Yes! Had this with my first pregnancy. I “labored” for a day and a half without dilating prior to active labor beginning. It started a few days before my due date, though, so I knew it couldn’t last TOO long 😅 hang in there momma!

Thank you all for sharing. 2 weeks, and 2 hospital trips.. I’m still having this false labor. We have been 3 cm dilated for over a week now. Had doc appointment yesterday, they said 3 cm 60% effaced and baby is at -3 station. fluids sac was good, baby breathing was gd and she measured 5lb7oz on the ultrasound. Now that I’m 36 weeks 2days, I started moving around. I don’t want to be having this false labor for another 3 weeks. Walking though will put me in more pain and I get more contractions / lower back pain. I’m hoping it means baby is moving along into birth canal but who really knows. The other annoyance for me is lower blood pressure - it keeps dropping to 93/58 and I get dizzy/ headaches My first pregnancy was so easy - didn’t feel a thing until my water broke at 38w4d.
