Talking?

Question

So my son only wants to say “yeah and bye bye” and nothing else he babbles and says things but not actual words and only wants to say yeah. Anyone else like this? I’m trying to talk to him and teach him more like “water, milk, more, hungry” he used to say mama and dads but stopped 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mine still says "yeah" and "mama" all the time. He also says "thank you" although most people wouldn't know that's what he's saying😂 He can say some other things, but since he can communicate most of his needs with his two favorite words he doesn't really bother with the rest. He recently started saying more animal sounds, so he is making progress, but I'm still trying to encourage him to ask for things by name.

My son says a lot compared to my daughter at his age. I will say this, talk to your doctor and if they’re not concerned, don’t stress it. That’s what we did with our daughter and the dr was never worried and she is 3 now and is pretty caught up with her speech now. All kids are different and you can’t compare them so my advice is to just talk with your Dr about it and go from there. Also, there is nothing wrong with speech therapy if that’s suggested. Had our Dr suggested that I would have put her in it and I still think she might need it later on for pronunciation but we’ll see.
