Nipples too big?

Hi ladies, my bub was born at 39 weeks. She is now 9 days old and hasn't been able to latch on. She will suck for a few seconds then pull away and i think she is just not getting a deep enough latch. My nipples are quite large (had to buy the biggest flange size for my pump) and im wondering if maybe thats the issue? Has anyone experienced this and found their baby was able to latch after a few weeks when theyd grown a bit?

Nipple size should not matter for baby to latch. She is most likely preferring the bottle cause it’s easier to eat from. Are you pace feeding cause if not that is the problem. Have you seen an IBCLC?

Have you seen a lactation consultant? That would be your first step.

My little one was born 8 weeks early and was fairly small. I struggled with getting him to latch and the hospital recommended a nipple shield. I tried it and it worked great. He was able to get a good latch. You can get them for fairly cheap. I would recommend trying that.

Or she is now preferring the bottle as it's way easier to drink from. Are you pace feeding?
