Has anyone ever had a scheduled c-section on the weekend?

I’ll need a scheduled c-section due to some complications with his/her older sibling. My baby is due about a week and a half after my late father’s birthday, and If possible, I’d love to have him that day. Is that even possible to request?

You’ll have to ask your doctor. Most hospitals do NOT schedule C-sections on the weekend. However, my first was scheduled on a Saturday because they were trying to accommodate my work schedule and the on call doctor that day was agreeable. So maybe you’ll have luck! 🙂

My OB only does surgery on set days of the week, which for her is Monday and Thursday morning. I had PROM too with our oldest and I asked her for my next baby if I could be scheduled for 37 weeks because I don’t want to go into labor again when she’s not there and she told me no 🫠

Mine refused. I tried for a specific date since I had to be scheduled regardless, and was told no they did not schedule for weekends.

Thanks all for your thoughtful feedback! I figured it was a long shot but couldn’t hurt to ask. Last pregnancy I had premature rupture of membranes three weeks early, so I’m not sure they will let me go the typical 39. I’ll ask my obgyn at my next appt. :)
