Robotic Hysterectomy vs Continuing losing weight to ease symptoms
Been referred to have a robotic Hysterectomy for heavy periods/anemia needing iron pills daily... AND for pelvic pain while having intercourse.. Strangely enough while waiting for the insurance to clear and cover the surgery, I have lost almost 10 lbs, dieting, food portioning and anticipating losing more as my BMI is above 35 considering me obese. Since losing the weight, the sex has felt way more desirable, intensely satisfying no more pain and now I'm questioning having the surgery. Today the clinic called asking me if I was ready to schedule the surgery. I am unsure if it's worth it, I didn't realize losing weight would help ease my symptoms so to speak... Obviously I'd still have to deal with heavy periods and take iron but I would work on maintaining my weight as I have twins 💙💗 who are about to be 1 and I have undoubtedly been busy running and keeping up after them, so shouldn't be having more pain during sex. There's weight restrictions after surgery up to 6 weeks no lifting anything over 20 lbs, hence my twins... That's also why I question it, and I've never been put under general anesthesia and was told it would be 3-4 hour long surgery. Anxious 😰 to say the least. What would you do? Pro to surgery, no more periods but ovaries are staying so no early menopause either!!
