So, this sort of stuff is so new to me. All throughout high school, frequent sex would never give me UTIs, but now I’m in my twenties and after a couple years of abstinence I am getting back into semi-frequent sex with my boyfriend. It’s not a lot of penetrative sex, more just stuff on the outside— like how I masturbate. I got a UTI a few months back after a particularly active weekend and it unveiled a bunch of underlaying issues. I’ve been so scared to get another one, but we had another active weekend last week and I’m starting to feel like I have another UTI.

I don’t know how to prevent them, I pee before and after, drink lots of water and cranberry juice, we make sure to be clean before we start anything and we shower after too. I literally don’t know how to stop them, I don’t want to be scared to be sexually active because I’m worried about UTIs. How do I help prevent them? What am I missing?
