Need advice on GoFundMe

Olivia

I am NOT asking for donations on here. I plan to start a GoFundMe to help me with IVF and I wanted someone to read my storyline and give me honest, constructive criticism on how it sounds, how it can be improved, what should be left out, etc!!

I never even wanted to do this because I HATE putting my business all out there but as of now, I’m running out of alternatives. Thank you guys for helping.

This is my storyline:

“Hi, my name is Olivia! I am 22 years old. I have always wanted to be a mother. As a young girl I would beg my mother to adopt so that I could help raise the baby. I was so ready and willing to jump into motherhood. Some people believe in destiny and fate, and I wholeheartedly know that I was made to be a mother. I imagine it’s extremely rewarding to raise a well-rounded, well-mannered child, that will eventually become a productive adult; that is my goal. I have worked for the NYC DOE since 2021 and I love my job. I will be starting college online in the Fall to finish my bachelors degree in Early Childhood/Special Education. I love the bond that I have formed with my children and getting their praises that I would make a good mother is beyond encouraging.

I met my boyfriend in high school at 13. We started dating at 17 and have been together for 5 years. 3 years ago we decided that we wanted to start a family. I never expected to be where we’re at now. I never even considered that infertility was a possibility. Everyone in my family is extremely fertile with multiple children. Especially with being young, it’s not something I thought I had to worry about.

Recently I was diagnosed with a diminished ovarian reserve and early menopause. So I don’t have much eggs left and my optimal fertile time is almost over. I also have a blocked tube. I remember feeling an equal amount of confused and hurt. I remember feeling absolutely useless as a woman. Now that I’ve had time to reflect, I understand that things just happen and what cannot be changed should not be dwelled on. I understand that it is not the end.

My specialist is recommending that we do IVF. Like everyone, we hope we are successful on the first attempt but there is never a guarantee. We are asking for help to pay for our IVF and we appreciate any donations we are given.”
