I’m livid

ka

I’m a preschool teacher, have been for 6 years. I am absolutely blown away with this “new thing” parents are doing.

Like I get that we all need to work and when our kids get sick it can be an inconvenience with our jobs/pay checks. But this is an all new low for me.

We have parents that have been sending their kids to school KNOWING they are sick with fevers. They dose them with meds before school so they don’t have a fever and then…. THEN they are putting Tylenol or ibuprofen INSIDE their apple sauce pouch! Are you FREAKING kidding me. So the kid gets a second dose at lunch time when they eat their “apple sauce pouch” and show no signs of fever. Which in turn spreads the darn sickness ALL over the class to other children and it’s an endless cycle. I sent a kid home with 101.5 today and while preparing the other children’s lunches a different child had the pouch that was previously opened. I twisted off the lid and the medication was all Over the top from not being mixed in. I asked the child was she feeling okay and she said “yeah, mommy gave me Tylenol because I was warm this morning” like WHAT!!! Blows me away. Do any of you do this mess???? I’m hoping to god not. I could understand if you had to do that as a way to get your child to take the medicine at home. But absolutely not to keep them medicated so they can attend preschool while they are still sick. 😡😡😡😡
