How long did they tell you to fast for your C-section?

I am due to get my C-section on Wednesday and I just got the call from the hospital. They told me to stop eating at 12 o’clock midnight the day before I have been watching a lot of videos and I see some of the girls that have C-section scheduled for later in the day like myself. It is scheduled for 2:45 but I have to be there at 12:45 they have eaten with only an eight hour fasting window, so am I safe to eat at 7 o’clock in the morning because my surgery is not scheduled till 2:45 in the afternoon
Update: For the people that wanna comment with smart remarks or ridiculous emojis, im only asking because I have gestational diabetes and I take insulin before bed if I don’t eat after a certain time I will get nauseated and feel sick to my stomach to all the sweet ones. You can’t eat after midnight, no matter what time your c section is. Listen to the hospital.

I would check with your doctor. Sometimes they will want you to still fast after midnight even for an afternoon section. Sometimes you can have certain liquids until closer to the scheduled time as well. Mine was scheduled for 10 AM and they recommended the midnight fast, but had me drink apple juice with Miralax on the morning of.

I was told an 8 hour fast. Mine was scheduled for 5AM so I stopped eating or drinking at 9PM the night aside from small sips of water. My section was moved back to 5PM even though I was already in the parking lot and they again just told me to fast for 8hrs. 
I would double check with your provider just in case.

I work in a surgery center and for all procedures patients have to stop eating at midnight and can only have small sips of water in the morning. I’ve seen late afternoon(4-5pm) surgeries get canceled cause the patient decided to have a cup of coffee in the morning. We don’t do C-sections so it could be different so I would definitely ask your doctor but I wouldn’t be surprised if they had you stop at midnight. The reason is that, if they have to put you to sleep, you could aspirate.
