C-section or VBAC?

Currently due with my 2nd boy in September. My first ended in an emergency c section due to my

son’s heart-rate dropping with each contraction, my pelvis basically not fitting him, and then he was sunny side up with the cord around his neck. This time around my Dr. Is open for VBAC or C-section depending on how my body is in the end. Anyone have a traumatic C then have a successful VBAC after? I’ve heard horror stories about scars separating and organ issues etc. I’m terrified about a VBAC now. I should also note I have terrible varicose veins going from my right thigh into my vag. Basically lumpy and lopsided all on be inside. Afraid they’ll erupt or something! 😭
