Boyfriends boss giving him a hard time

My boyfriend’s boss is making me feel awful because we are going on vacation.

My bf works for a guy doing construction. And there is only a few guys that run machines and the rest of the guys do more labor. My bf is one that can run the machines and equipment.

My bf and I are going on vacation soon and he told his boss this months ago. Just like I did at my job. But his boss has been trying to talk him out of going because they will struggle without him. He has offered to give him time and a half, offered to give him an extra day off, etc.

my bf told him that we cant change our vacation , we wont get a refund and we paid thousands of dollars for our vacation.

It’s upsetting me because it makes me feel bad for going and I shouldn’t feel that way. It makes me feel like because I want 5 days to relax somewhere, that I’m ruining a business 😩 I should be excited about going. My boyfriend seems excited and doesn’t seem to care about his boss.

It’s just one week. Why can’t we just go have fun for one week?
