Bath vs bath stand

Question

First time mom-to-be and I’m researching bath needs. Do I need to get a bath stand? How do I decide? And what are the things I should look out for? Thanks!

I got something similar to this. I find it very useful when they are teeny newborns with the slip. Then, as they get older I use it in the bath tub (because they will start to kick and splash). I don’t transition until one years old to use the regular bathtub.
I use soft bamboo wash cloths for bathing, and babo newborn foaming wash. And coconut oil and a fine comb if they get cradle cap. Another thing is I only bathe my baby once a week! We can do wash cloth baths in between if necessary. I want to keep things natural and daily bathing seems excessive.

We have this one. We did swaddled baths in the sling and newborn side for a long time with both kids. My almost 2 year old can still fit in it. 
We did not get a stand. This fits in a double sink (there’s a notch to rest it on the center piece of the sink) or a large single sink. We even use it just in the counter or floor. Never been an issue.

I bathed my daughter in the bathroom sink using an insert from a baby bath and a Blooming bath on it. If we had the space we would have gone with a baby bath with a stand but our bathroom is pretty small and it takes up space. Once she got bigger and started kicking around we bathed her in the bathtub still using the baby bath in the bathtub.

You don’t “need” anything per say, there’s a billion options. With my first we used a bath flower, which was a cushion thing you put in the sink. Drying it was a pain though. My second just had a lean back seat we set in the tub. Both children I held with me in the shower from newborn for awhile. Started that with our first because we were building a house and living in a camper. It was so convenient, but it’s frowned upon as people can drop the kids obviously
