my boyfriend won’t clean

so, my boyfriend and i live in an apartment.

we moved in together seven months ago.

in the first couple of months, i noticed i was the only one who cleaned our apartment.

i was the only one to do laundry for four months.

he left his laundry in a mountain on the side of the bed which was like 4’ high and you couldn’t even walk past it, so you had to climb the mountain of clothes if you wanted to go to that side of the bed.

i have been the only one to wash the dishes.

when i tell him that it is his turn, he will either use the dishwasher (and complain about how it doesn’t wash them correctly) or tell me that he has no dishes in the sink, which is usually incorrect.

he has never once swept or mopped, but i have quite a few times since we have pets that like to destroy the apartment from time to time.

if i leave a mess, he will always say something about it.

i have talked to him about this many times.

i am getting super fed up because our house continues to look and smell disgusting and he just doesn’t seem to think it’s his mess as well.

he will voice to me how the apartment smells bad, it’s messy, etc. yet, he never cleans.

in fact he asks me why i clean all the time!

i feel like i have a toddler!

can i please have some advice? how to have a good conversation that will get him to start treating me like his girlfriend and not his mom?
