Complaining partner

I love my bf, hes a sweet man. But he is always complaining. He is a claims adjuster and was given the opportunity to get his license in another state and calls me 2-3 times a day complaining how hard the training is and how hes not gonna pass the test. Probably mentions not passing the test 5 times a week. Very low self esteem. I am a real estate agent and my job is very stressful and i have never complained as much as him. And i have to say him complaining is turning me off that he cant even handle a training and is not confident he can pass the test. I offered to help him study and he just keeps saying he’s gonna fail. His energy is rubbing off on me and i feel as though its bringing me down. I dont know if that makes sense. But i want my partner to be confident in himself in his job and how his work ethic. I have very strong work ethic and am very ambitious and i dont feel that from him. I even try to tell

Him every morning hes going to pass and hes smart to uplift him. But i constantly hear the complaining. This shows me that perhaps he gives up

Too easily and has no drive. I dont know if i can be with someone like this. Am i in the wrong? What more else can i do?
