Just got diagnosed... Help?

Question

I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and my prescription for my equipment will be sent to the pharmacy Monday. I guess? That's what was told to me over the phone. I'm waiting for someone to call me about it Monday. But, can anyone give me tips on managing it with just diet? What I can drink mostly? I can't do just plain water all the time. I'm due September 2nd!

Fasting level has to be 90 or below. Breakfast 30 carbs lunch and dinner 45 carbs testing two hours after eating have to be under 120! 15 carbs for snacks in between your meals. Water or diet soda. You will be checking your sugar 4 times a day! This is my second pregnancy with it but close to the end thank goodness

Did you have any symptoms? I’m getting the test done earlier than they would’ve done it because I’m having some symptoms but I’m curious to know if you noticed any symptoms at all?

I was diagnosed as well, and as much as I drink a ton of water (and I hate water with every fiber of my being) you can still drink diet sodas or sports drinks without sugar. I also got the flavor add ins for water, I use fruit punch or iced tea flavors without sugar. I also was put in touch with a dietician for advice on what foods/drinks are ok with gestational diabetes.

Premier Protein shakes or the Jif natural (any lower carb PB really) as a snack before bed have kept my fasting glucose levels great. Recently got diagnosed myself and barely failed my 3 hour (twin pregnancy so I knew it was more likely to be diagnosed with GDM). I sometimes will have one mini can of a diet soda. Definitely consider some Gatorade zero or mixes with electrolytes since they will also help with leg cramps if you get those. You got this Mama!
