Hey adventurous mamas! I've been thinking about taking a trip while pregnant, but I've heard mixed opinions on traveling during pregnancy. Have any of you traveled while pregnant? Let's discuss and share our travel experiences!

No, I’m high risk and still traveled for 3 months of my pregnancy non stop right after having a baby I was traveling the next week too. I love traveling 😂 nothing truly deters me honestly I can be rather impulsive

I haven’t traveled yet but when I’m 17 weeks, we’re leaving where we live in southern Spain and traveling to Barcelona, and then we’ll fly back to the US. I’m a little nervous about the flight but I think everything should be fine

I’m currently on a two week long road trip with my husband for our belated honeymoon. I’m 12w 4 days! I’ve had no problems so far, other than just simply not being able to do as much as I would’ve been able to had I not been pregnant, such as hiking long distances (due to energy levels) or riding rollercoasters.

I’ve heard that only in the third trimester it’s best not to fly (because if you go in labour you’re in the air). But with respect to travelling otherwise there’s no reason not too. I think there are certainly so considerations though, like having travellers medical insurance (if you’re leaving your country) that covers pregnancy-related issues, should they arise. Another consideration is the location you’re going and determine if there are any diseases that could hurt pregnancy. I remember a few years ago, there were some locations who had Zika Virus and women were advised to no travel to those locations due to the harm it could have on baby. So I think if you know the place is generally safe from such diseases and you have adequate health coverage for your own protection. Why not travel?

I’ve never flown while pregnant and I’ve got 2 plane rides in 3 days coming up next week. I’m a little nervous about it, but I’ve always heard that as long as you’re not super close to your due date that it’s ok…? Definitely not an expert though as I did not travel at all with my first baby (I was pregnant during Covid)

Why would traveling during pregnancy be an issue? You’re just supposed to sit at home for 10 months? I’ve traveled during all of my pregnancies.
