Third trimester dental appointments: Should I book one before the baby arrives?

Hey mamas! As the due date approaches, I'm wondering if it's necessary to schedule a dental check-up during the third trimester. Have any of you visited the dentist in the final months of pregnancy? Share your thoughts and help me decide if it's something I should consider!

I just scheduled mine, I’ll be about 34 weeks 😬 feels like pushing it (for me- I can’t go past 37 wks) but I’m due for a cleaning and know myself enough to know there’s no way I’m gonna go for several months postpartum

Check with your insurance! If you’re trying to get in earlier, your insurance may only cover you for every 6 month or later. I booked my appointment for my last month of pregnancy. With my last baby I was scheduled for 2 months postpartum but my husband was back at work and I didn’t have anyone to babysit. It was challenging and I ended up having to reschedule for a few month later.

If it would be your normal time for a check up - go. Pregnancy is hard on your teeth and gums. A little extra tlc for them is good.
