Induction with second baby

Hi Ladies, I went nearly 10 days overdue with my first and it was miserable. I am currently 33 weeks with my second and when I asked OB about the possibility of scheduling an induction prior to or around my delivery date (obviously if everything is looking good with bubba) I was told no, they will wait until after my due date. It’s kind of made me a bit miserable as I was hoping to get a little organized with an induction date as we have a toddler and two dogs to organize for the night when I am in hospital. Does this seem like a normal response to you? I see so many posts about induction dates being scheduled at 37,38,39 weeks - I have had no complications - is this why an early induction won’t be offered to me? Appreciate any insight you all have!
